We raise Nubian Dairy Goats. All of our goats have access to our own organic pasture in season. Although not 100% organic, we strive to find the best balance of high quality and sustainability in our dairy operation.

All our Goats have ample space to run and just be goats. Our milkers have access to organic pasture in season and locally produced hay all winter. We use only high quality Poulin Grain.
Our small micro dairy means that great care goes into each part of the production process. It also insures that each animal is inspected daily.
We both hand milk and use a small milking machine, which insures a high quality product made in small batches with care.
We are a licensed Maine Raw Goat milk dairy which means you can count on the highest quality of milk available.
At Saco River Farms in Steep Falls Maine you can find all our delicious products. Goat milk, Goat Yogurt and of course our famous goat cheeses.
Raw goat milk available in quarts or half gallons. Each jar shows clearly when it was milked so you know you are getting the freshest milk!
Our Goats's milk yogurt is sold plain unsweetened and in several popular flavors.
Our most popular product by far... Fresh soft goat cheese in a variety of flavors! One taste will have you coming back time and again. Try this on omelets, burgers, crackers and everything else!
Another favorite: Mizithra is a Greek Isle cheese similar to fresh mozzarella. We marinate it in spices and olive oil to really bring out the flavor. Perfect on salads or cheese platters.

Raw Goat Milk

Fresh Maine Goat milk is not only delicious, but also offers many health benefits over traditional cow milk. Raw goat milk is loaded with probiotics and contains significantly less allergens than cow’s milk. Goat Milk is actually closer in composition to human milk then cow’s milk, making it much easier for your body to digest. Many people who are lactose intolerant can enjoy goat’s milk or yogurt & cheese made with goat’s milk without side effects.

Our goat milk is so delicious that most people mistake it for cow milk. In fact in blind taste tests, many people prefer our goat milk over whole cow milk. The milk from our Nubian dairy goats is creamy and sweet, due to its high butterfat content. Stop in and ask for a sample.

We sell Raw Goat Milk by the pint, quart, & 1/2 gallon. Larger quantities are available upon request.

With the growing concerns around the PFAS “forever chemicals” it is comforting to know that unlike many Maine farms, our pastures were never treated with sludge.
